Registration for Summer 2025
Summer Art Camp registration opens March 24, with early access for museum members starting March 17.
Each child must register to attend Art Camp, regardless of past attendance.
Summer Schedule
Age Groups & Cost
Art Camp classes are designed
for the following age groups:

Entering Kindergarten
Entering 1st-2nd grades
Entering 3rd–5th grades
Entering 6th–8th grades

Wee Art: 1-hour class for
Preschool ages 2-4 with an adult
​
K-8 class sessions: $75
Wee Art sessions: $35
Lunch Stay Fee: $75
Late Pickup Fee: $5 per minute
Summer Schedule
Summer Art Camp is 8 weeks long and consists of weeklong AM (9am-12pm) and PM (1:30pm-4:30pm) sessions. All day campers are welcome to sign up to stay for lunch for an additional fee.

Week 5: July 7-11
Week 6: July 14-18
Week 7: July 21-25
Week 8: July 28-August 1

Art Camp is followed by a reception showcasing student work on August 10.
Apply to be an Assistant Teacher
Ages 14 and up are welcome to apply for an Assistant Teacher position. Assistant Teachers will assist our Art Camp Instructors, help set up, clean up, pass out snack, and manage student behavior. Pay starts at $10/hour.

Applications open March 3. If selected, interviews will take place on April 13. To apply, please drop off your resume, application, and recommendation form at our front desk before March 28.
Art Camp offers a variety of classes to inspire kids of a variety of ages. With small group sizes, your child will enjoy personalized instruction and a supportive environment to explore their artistic talents. From painting and sculpture to drawing and mixed media, each session delves into unique themes and techniques to spark imagination and develop creative skills. Whether your child is a budding artist or simply loves to create, there’s something for everyone.
FAQs
Is there a registration deadline, and what is the cancellation policy?
Registration closes 1 week before each course. Out of town visitors will be addressed on an individual basis. To cancel, you must call the museum as soon as possible. No refunds are issued after registration, including for "no-shows," with the exception of classes canceled by the Museum of East Texas.
Are there any scholarships for Art Camp?
Please call the museum to inquire about scholarships. Students may be eligible to attend 2 classes at no cost thanks to our sponsors below.
How are age groups determined for art camp?
Students must meet be entering the grade level listed for a class for the 2025-2026 school year. Ex. If you are signed up for a class for Grades 3-5, your child must be entering Grades 3, 4, or 5 in the new school year. Age restrictions are strictly enforced and are not negotiable.
Does the Museum of East Texas provide before class or after class supervision?
Children may be dropped off no earlier than 15 minutes before their scheduled class time and must be picked up promptly after class. Children under Grade 6 must be accompanied in and out of the building during pick up and drop off. All day students may sign up for a paid lunch session.
What is supplied by Art Camp?
The Museum of East Texas supplies water, snacks, and all materials unless stated otherwise in the course description.
What should my child wear to art class?
Wear comfortable clothes that can get messy.
What are the behavior expectations?
Students are expected to listen, follow instructions, participate in class activities, respect others, respect property, and have fun! Parents needing to stay in the classroom with their children will be addressed as needed on an individual basis.
