Rule of Thirds (Grades 3-5)

Class Description

Class Title: Rule of Thirds Date: Thursday, April 10 Time: 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM Grade Level: 3rd - 5th Grade Cost: $8 per class Supplies: All supplies provided Join us for an exciting afterschool art class designed for young artists in 3rd to 5th grade! In these classes, students will learn art basics through a variety of media and learn a little art history along the way. No experience or prior art knowledge required! Classes will start promptly at 4pm, when you are able to drop off your child and pick them up by 5pm. We kindly request that all families ensure timely pickup of their children, as the Museum closes at 5pm. In this particular class, "Rule of Thirds," students will understand the rule of thirds in composition and apply the rule of thirds in their own drawing. Students will look at paintings including "The Mona Lisa" and "The Starry Night" and discuss how these paintings use the rule of thirds to build interest. With time permitting, students will share their creations with their other artist classmates.
